Garrett became active as a CCL volunteer in March of 2019. He started with scheduling social events for the chapter and found his passion for community building. Since then, he’s been a liaison, chapter co-leader, and state coordinator. He loves to mentor and support volunteers in all aspects of their development as climate advocates.
Garrett spent years in the managed service provider world supporting users and dabbling in various software development projects – rarely combining his interest in technology with his climate advocacy. Then, in April of 2021, he was brought on as an IT Specialist to support CCL’s staff across all systems and services while also working with volunteers to remove technical obstacles to effective climate advocacy. In late October of 2021, he accepted a position within CCL as Front-end Developer to support CCL’s advocacy by creating accessible and engaging experiences for everyone who interacts with CCL’s online resources.
