In keeping with the bipartisan spirit of the Climate Solutions Caucus, Congressmen Carlos Curbelo, Ted Deutch, and Lamar Smith recently hosted the First Annual Bipawtisan Howliday Pup Party for the office dogs of Capitol Hill. Approximately 20 of the Hill’s cutest canines attended the soiree along with about 50 congressional staffers, several camera crews, and many members of Congress.

“It was one of the best Hill events I’ve been to this year,” said Jay Butera, who represented CCL at the festivities. “Turns out, there’s nothing like a room full of non-partisan puppies to help folks put politics aside and reconnect,” he said. “Everybody had fun. I’ve never seen so many smiles in one room on the Hill before.”

The party was held in one of the formal committee rooms in the Rayburn House Office Building, and it built on a long tradition of lawmakers bringing their four-legged friends to work with them. Thanks to Rep. Curbelo, Rep. Deutch and Rep. Smith for hosting the event, which will surely have a “paw”sitive effect on bipartisan work in 2018!
