This event is for CCL volunteers only, and is intended for politically right of center attendees. Attendees who are right of center can apply to attend the full virtual conference on April 18th and virtual lobby meetings on April 21st. We strongly encourage right of center attendees to participate in the full conference program on April 18th and experience lobby day on April 21st. If you’re not able to participate on lobby day on April 21st, you can attend the virtual conference only.

How do I register?

Attendees who are not right of center interested in attending can register for the live stream of select conference sessions (sessions taking place from 2:30-4 p.m. ET) on April 18th. You can also check out our other conferences and events coming up this year.

What should I do if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel please contact us as soon as possible by email so we can adjust the lobby teams. The deadline to receive a refund is April 10, 2026.

May I pay by check?

Yes. When you register and you get to the payment section of the registration process, select “pay by check” and continue with the rest of the registration form. Please mail your check (made payable to Citizens’ Climate Education) to our office: Citizens’ Climate, PO Box 181020, Coronado, CA 92178. Please put “2026 Conservative Conference” in the memo. Your payment must be received by April 10, 2026.

Can minors (those under 18 years old) participate in the virtual conference & lobby day?

CCL programs are for those 13 years old or older. If you are under 13 years old, do not register.

The virtual conference may be recorded and/or screenshots may be taken for documentation purposes. Volunteers aged 13-17 may attend, no permission slip required. We ask that minors who join by video conference stay off camera unless accompanied by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian. Please see the full CCL Youth Volunteer Policy for more details.

Program & Agenda

Where can I find the conference schedule?

We’ll be making updates to the program as we get closer to the conference, so be sure to check back for the most up-to-date agenda. You’ll find the conference schedule on this webpage you are currently viewing, scroll up to the “Program” section to find the conference agenda.

What is the CCL Climate Advocate Lobby Training?

The Climate Advocate Lobby Training focuses on CCL’s history and methods for generating political will, and the basics of how to lobby Congress using CCL’s specific approach. The training occurs at our Summer Conference & Lobby Day, State Conferences, and when we are initiating a brand new group in a new area. This training is required to lobby with CCL. If you’re new to CCL or you have never attended this training before, please plan to attend the virtual version of the workshop on March 22nd, or watch the recording before lobby day on April 21st.

Lobbying

How many members of Congress (MOCs) will we meet with?

We are aiming to meet with about 30 Republican Congressional offices for this year’s Conservative Virtual Lobby Day.

How many lobby meetings will I have? How many people will be on the lobby teams?

Based on our past experience, we expect each person to have 2-3 lobby meetings, with 4-6 volunteer lobbyists in each meeting. This is subject to change, of course, depending on how many offices we schedule appointments with and the timing of those meetings.

What is the process for creating lobby teams?

We will do our best to put constituents in their Congressperson’s meeting though sometimes there are more constituents than space on a lobby team. We estimate each citizen lobbyist to have 2-3 meetings. Given we’ll have attendees from around the country, lobby teams will have a mix of 4-6 constituents and non-constituents.

How are lobby schedules created?

Lobby teams and schedules are coordinated in conjunction with CCL Staff and State Coordinators and a software program that prioritizes constituents and existing liaisons to be placed in their district meeting if possible.

We cross reference the availability you provided when you registered, and we place you into appointments based on your availability, your congressional district, special relationships (you must be logged into CCL Community to enter your special member of Congress relationships) you’ve indicated and the need for volunteers to fill meetings where we do not have any or enough constituents to fill the meeting. We try to have no more than 4-6 people per meeting, depending on the number of people we have attending Lobby Day. We estimate each volunteer lobbyist to have 2-3 meetings.

We kindly ask that you love the schedule you receive. The process of coordinating the schedule is complex and changes have domino effects. Sometimes congressional staffers have requested a limit on the number of people attending the meeting. If for any reason you cannot attend a meeting we ask that you notify the meeting leader, which can be found on your lobby schedule.

When will I be notified of the lobby team I am on?

Once you apply to attend the conference and lobby day and are accepted, you will be given a link to register. Please register as soon as possible. Lobby day registration closes April 2, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET sharp, no exceptions. This gives us enough time to assemble the lobby teams and schedules from available lobbyists. We’ll notify you of your team members the week of April 13th, so you’ll have plenty of time to meet with your team to plan before lobby day on April 21st (see FAQ below “Will lobby teams have time to prepare for their lobby meeting?”).

Who makes the appointments for this lobby day?

What will my lobby schedule look like?

How do I prepare for Lobby Day? What training should I attend?

All citizen lobbyists: We expect everyone who is participating in virtual lobby day on April 21st to attend the virtual conference on April 18th.

Whether it’s your first time lobbying or your tenth, visit our Preparing for Lobby Day page (will be updated for Conservative Lobby Day soon) to read through our recommended resources as a guide to walk you through the process of planning a powerful Lobby Day experience and the upcoming calendar of deadlines, helpful links and training. Plan to attend the April 9th Conference Logistics and Q&A call to review what to expect at the event and the Congressional Asks. During the virtual conference, we’ll review the Asks once more.

We ask the leader for each lobby team to contact the team members as soon as possible after the schedules are sent out to arrange a time to prepare for the meeting. If you don’t hear from your team lead, you can also contact them. All contact information for your team will be on your schedule which will be emailed to you on April 15th. Teams are encouraged to meet virtually to plan as you will have several days to prepare prior to lobby day.

New to CCL: CCL’s Climate Advocate Lobby Training is required to lobby with CCL. If you’re new to CCL or you have never attended this training before, please plan to attend the virtual version of the workshop on March 22nd, or watch the recording before lobby day.

Will lobby teams have time to prepare for their lobby meeting?

Lobby meeting preparation matters! Given our busy virtual conference agenda, there will not be designated time for each team to meet during the conference, but you will have plenty of time outside of the conference to meet virtually with your team before lobby day.

Lobby Team Leaders: Individuals selected as Lobby Team Leaders will be alerted of such by April 13th. We ask Team Leaders to contact their team members as soon as you receive your schedule on April 15th (via email and/or text) to arrange a virtual meeting time to plan your lobby meeting. All contact information for your team will be on your schedule.

Team Members (non Team Leaders): Expect to hear from your Team Leader to arrange time virtually to plan your meeting. If you don’t hear from your Team Leader, you can also contact them. All contact information for your team will be on your schedule which will be emailed to you on April 15th.

We encourage you to use Sunday, April 19th as a planning day. You can meet with your lobby teams at the same time you are set to lobby on Tuesday (i.e, Lobby meeting is at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, 4/21, so you should meet with your team on Sunday, 4/19 at 2 p.m. ET to plan that meeting.)

Lobby Meeting Start Time in ET Suggested Planning Start Time (arrange with your team lead) on Sunday, April 19
10-10:59 AM meetings 10:00 AM ET
11-11:59 AM meetings 11:00 AM ET

3-3:59 PM meetings 3:00 PM ET
4-4:59 PM meetings 4:00 PM ET

May I change the lobby schedule I receive?

We kindly ask that you love the schedule you get. The process of coordinating the schedule is complex and changes have domino effects. Sometimes Congressional staffers have requested a limit on the number of people attending the meeting. Meeting times do occasionally get changed by the office.  If this happens, the meeting lead will notify the team and coordinate any adjustments that need to be made due to the change. If for any reason you cannot attend a meeting, we ask that you notify both and the meeting leader, which can be found on your lobby schedule.

Can I drop in to a Lobby Meeting?

No, please do not just drop in to a lobby meeting or join a team you aren’t assigned to. Consult for advice if you think it is imperative that you be in a certain meeting. We put a lot of effort and advance planning into creating lobby teams, including making sure they aren’t too large and making sure everyone who is registered to lobby is part of a lobby team. Lobby day is not a drop-in event. Advance registration and attending the training during the conference are expected of everyone who wishes to participate in the lobby day.

What should a citizen lobbyist wear?

Even though meetings will be virtual, we still dress like professional lobbyists! For those participating in Virtual Lobby Day on April 21, we suggest wearing business attire. That might mean: a suit and tie, dress pants or skirt with a professional top, or sweater, and jacket/blazer, or a dress. You can check out this folder of photos from past lobby days for some outfit inspiration.
