Our 13-year marathon is about to be a sprint.
With a climate-affirming president in the White House, we are in the best position we’ve ever been in to pass meaningful legislation. But a narrowly divided Congress means the White House can’t do much without bipartisan support. What’s needed is a nonpartisan, grassroots group with inroads to nearly every Congressional office. And look! Here we are.

As one of the only grassroots organizations committed to bipartisanship, Citizens’ Climate has laid the groundwork to bring policymakers together on climate solutions. Our volunteers have built trusting, respectful relationships with congressional offices on both sides of the aisle. And, we’ve already had success in building broad, bipartisan support for climate-smart policies — policies like the Energy Innovation Act, the RECLAIM Act, the BEST Act, and the Growing Climate Solutions Act.
Now, if we want to get significant climate legislation passed in the coming year, we’ll have to do even more. In 2021, we will recruit more conservative volunteers to meet with Republican members of Congress and work to change climate conversations back in their home states. We will continue to expand our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts — both internally and through our external work. Lastly, we will focus on expanding our state-level work, which will help drive the country toward a unified carbon pricing policy. Will you help us?
Note: Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) is the tax-deductible, sister organization to Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL). CCE provides educational training, tools, and other resources to help volunteers become effective climate advocates, while CCL provides support for direct lobbying efforts.
