It’s not always obvious how one call, one email, or one lobby meeting makes a difference for climate policy. But when thousands of people act together, the impact is undeniable. Take the story of the PROVE IT Act, for example.
The PROVE IT Act from the 118th Congress (2023-2024) would have required the Department of Energy to report on the carbon content of a range of U.S. goods — vital information for global trade policy to effectively reduce emissions.
Citizens’ Climate volunteers actively pushed the PROVE IT Act throughout the last Congress, building support for it in 848 lobby meetings on Capitol Hill, 14,666 messages to Congress, and 2,064 calls to key Senate committee members. When the bill faced organized, well-funded opposition, our advocacy acted as a strong counterweight.
Just a few weeks ago, language from the PROVE IT Act was signed into law as part of a 2026 funding package. Years of steady, coordinated advocacy from Citizens’ Climate helped move this idea from proposal to policy.
That same persistence helped advance the Fix Our Forests Act in 2025 and continues pushing Congress toward a comprehensive permitting reform package, which will unlock more clean energy across the country.

Every single month, Citizens’ Climate activates our grassroots network through our in-depth Action Sheets, national organizing meetings, and Climate Action Program mobilizations.
This is the steady, coordinated action that secures climate policy wins.
Our BRIDGE Advocacy program launched in January and offers new lessons each month. So far, almost 700 volunteers have completed the first training and are now equipped with key skills to build trust across divides — vital to making climate progress in today’s political landscape.
Citizens’ Climate swims against the current with our intentionally nonpartisan approach to climate work. Throughout this Congress, 44% of our outreach to lawmakers has been to Republicans, and 55% has been to Democrats, with each email, call and lobby meeting turning monthly action into lasting change.

Donating appreciated stock is one of the most tax-efficient ways to donate. Avoid capital gains taxes, maximize deductions, and make a big impact.Â
If you are 70.5 years or older, you can reduce your taxable income by giving directly from your Individual Retirement Account to Citizens’ Climate Education (501c3).Â
Donations made to 501(c)(4) Citizens’ Climate Lobby (the button above) are not tax-deductible. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation, you can donate to 501(c)(3) Citizens’ Climate Education. New and increased monthly donations to both CCE and CCL count toward the campaign goal and will be matched. Match funds will be designated to CCE.
