Citizens' Climate Lobby Chapter

Chico, California
About Our Chapter
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to experience breakthroughs exercising their personal and political power. Our chapter is just one of hundreds of chapters across the world working to create the political will for a livable world.

We are laser focused on a specific piece of legislation and a proven strategy to gain its passage. We are working for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world. (That said, we clelbrate any progress that can be made on this suprprisingly contencious issue.)

Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.

We’ve seen firsthand how passionate citizens who are well-trained, organized by district and with a good system of support can more than influence the political process.

The Chico chapter meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Chico Public Library. 6pm socializing, 6:30pm start time.

We communicate with each other by occasional e-mails. We have a special e-mail group for those who want more frequent communications.

Ours is still a small group, and we enthusiastically welcome everyone...especially those who want to contribute to strategy or to make contact with a specific group or personage (from city councils to Ag or business leaders to other environmental groups). We can point you to the resources which will make you successful.

Our primary activities are writing letters to our Members of Congress, writing letters and op-eds about Carbon Fee and Dividend in local and regional newspapers, tabling at climate- and energy-related events, and making presentations at business and social organizations. Please join us even if you have only limited free time, because every small contribution helps!!

Our Facebook page is a good place to see what events we have coming up. Soon we hope to have a local chapter website as well.

We highly recommend that you join CCL (, listen to the weekly intro call to get a very clear idea of who we are, and contact us to have a  coffee (or whatever) with one of our group members (Gordon Gregory is our Group Leader).  We will be so very happy to wecome you to the team!

For those that don't wish to do a lot... you are also welcome! You can do as little as get on the mailing list to find our our activities or as much as you want . The choice is yours.
