Citizens' Climate Lobby Chapter

San Mateo County

(San Mateo, Redwood City, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Belmont, Millbrae, Foster City, Half Moon Bay), California
About Our Chapter
We are very active throughout San Mateo County working to build the political will for meaningful, durable climate change legislation - specifically a carbon fee and dividend policy.  You can learn more about different ways you can volunteer here.

Our monthly meeting is on the second Saturday of each Month from 9:30 – 11:30 am at the Peninsula JCC at 800 Foster City Blvd in Foster City. (See also our Calendar of Monthly Events.)

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to experience breakthroughs exercising their personal and political power. Our chapter is just one of hundreds of chapters across the world working to create the political will for a livable world.

We are laser focused on a specific piece of legislation and a proven strategy to gain its passage. We are working for the passage of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act  (HR 763), the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.

Our market-based carbon fee and dividend policy will reduce emissions by 40% in 12 years and 90% by 2050, while creating 2.1 million in the first ten years of enactment — all without growing government.

We’ve seen firsthand how passionate citizens who are well-trained, organized by district and with a good system of support can more than influence the political process.
