Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of your level of experience in CCL. We provide training for all levels of experience on the first day.

Based on the latest data on the pandemic, and for the health of our staff and volunteers, we are now requiring conference attendees to wear a mask while inside the hotel. We ask (on the honor system) that you test yourself the morning of the conference before you arrive to be sure you don’t have COVID and encourage testing daily. We also encourage you to be vaccinated and boosted before you come, and to mask while on public transportation as you travel to the conference. 

Additional information:

• If you test positive for COVID in the days leading up to or at the conference, we ask that you stay home or isolate yourself. We will refund your conference registration fee upon request.
• Free test kits are available to order for your household. 
• Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue and CCL will provide KN95 masks (1 per person) at the conference though we encourage you to bring your own masks if possible.
• We will have a limited supply of free self-tests available for you at the hotel, however we encourage you to bring your own since supplies will be limited.
• We will not be asking people to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test at the venue, and trust you to think about the needs of the community. 
• Please be sensitive to the varying needs of the people around you regarding social distancing and physical contact. The rooms will be set up with round tables rather than auditorium seating to allow for more spacing between people. 
• Remember that other members of the public will be at the hotel, and currently there are no local government mandates in place. The pandemic remains an evolving situation and it’s possible our guidance will evolve, so please keep an eye out for our communications. We will be streaming portions of the conference for those who cannot attend.

We strive to keep registration fees low to make it possible for as many people who want to attend to be able to do so. To request a registration discount or fee waiver, please email .

For financial support to offset travel and lodging for the conference, we recommend talking with your Group Leader or State or Regional Coordinator about local fundraising efforts. We will be having a reception the evening of Monday, June 13th which includes hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. All other meals are on your own. The area is packed with restaurants.

Yes. When you register and you get to the payment section of the registration process, select “pay by check” and continue with the rest of the registration form. Please mail your check, made payable to Citizens’ Climate Education, to our office at 1330 Orange Ave #309, Coronado, CA 92118. Please put “2022 June Conference” in the memo. Your payment must be received by May 22nd.

Yes! CCL believes in empowering young voices. Please note that conference attendees under the age of 18 require additional steps for registration. Here are the considerations that you should be aware of and steps you should take:

1. All conference attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian or chaperone. Chaperones must be approved by parents/legal guardians via a permission slip. Permission slips must be received by May 22, otherwise may result in canceled registration.
2. Both the chaperone or parent/legal guardian and the minor must be registered for the conference.
3. One chaperone may be responsible for up to six minors. 
4. A personalized permission slip link will be sent to you and your parent/legal guardian after registering. For any questions regarding your permission slip or attending the conference as a minor, please email .

Registration fees are not transferable.

There will be some conference sessions that we are live streaming on Zoom Events (check the Program above to see which sessions will be streaming). To register for Zoom Events, you must have at least a free Zoom account and you will be prompted to log in to your Zoom account. Yes, you can walk-in to the conference and register. We can accept credit/debit cards, and personal checks only. Registration prices are $179 for conference registration (includes June 12-13), $30 for student/low income conference registration (includes June 12-13), and $25 to add on a Saturday Seminar (includes June 11).

The Climate Advocate Training Workshop focuses on CCL, our history, and our methods for generating political will, as well as the basics of how to lobby Congress using CCL’s specific approach. The training occurs at our International and Regional Conferences, and when we are initiating a brand new group in a new area. If you’re new to CCL or you have never attended this training before we strongly encourage you to attend it in person at the conference, or you can sign up for a virtual version of the workshop here. This training is required to lobby with CCL in June or any future lobbying.

CCL is not organizing a national in-person lobby day for this conference the way we have in the past, due to the on-going uncertainties of the times we live in. Instead we are joining with Citizens’ Climate International to hold an international week of action and lobbying after the conference ends. In the United States our local congressional liaisons and group leaders will determine whether the lobbying will be virtual or in-person and will be in charge of putting together the lobby teams, just as they have done throughout the pandemic. Our goal remains to meet with all or nearly all members of Congress during the second half of June. If you wish to be part of a lobbying team this June (either in DC or online), contact your CCL Regional and/or State Coordinator. We cannot guarantee that any particular Congressional meeting will get scheduled or who will be on that team. If you have any questions about lobbying, please contact CCL’s Director of Congressional Liaisons and Lobby Days, Amy Bennett, . Your patience and flexibility is also much appreciated as this is a new way of doing our June lobbying. Note: Since we cannot know how many in-person meetings will actually work out, the conference will end with a closing reception on Monday evening, rather than on Tuesday as has been our tradition.

The host hotel is the Omni Shoreham, located at 2500 Calvert Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20008. For conference attendees, the rate starts at $299 per night plus tax with up to four people per room. You must book by May 10th to receive the CCL rate. Visit our group room block reservation page on the hotel’s website to make your reservation. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis and fill up quickly, we suggest you make your reservation early.

In order to facilitate the coordination of searching for roommates you will need to sign CCL’s  Liability Waiver for the Room Share Forum. Valet parking is available at the hotel at the rate of $55/day. Self-parking is not available.

Yes, DC’s rail service is called Metro. The Red Line stops at Woodley Park, which is a couple of blocks away from the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Check out this DC Metro Trip Planner for additional information.

From Union Station, take the Red Line going toward Shady Grove (Northwest) to the Woodley Park station (six stops). Walk two blocks to the Omni Shoreham Hotel by heading out of the Woodley Park station at the 24th Street NW & Connecticut Ave exit and proceed down Calvert Street. Volunteers wishing to offset their carbon footprint from traveling to and from the conference can do so via the United Airlines’ CarbonChoice program if you are flying via United, or use common carbon offset programs like Carbonfund or TerraPass to support projects designed to help reduce greenhouse gases.
