National Youth Action Team Coordinator
As National Youth Action Team Coordinator, Sharon Bagatell supports youth under 18 and their adult allies to build a vibrant national youth network within CCL. Sharon has over 30 years experience as an educator, curriculum-developer, and program coordinator in a variety of formal and informal educational settings. From her first days as a first grade teacher, Sharon’s twin passions have been environmental education and empowered civic engagement, and working with CCL youth fits those passions well.
As a CCL volunteer, Sharon founded the Northeast Missouri chapter in 2014, and served as group leader, liaison to her Congressman and Co-State Coordinator for Missouri. Now living in Durham, North Carolina, Sharon serves as adult mentor for the local CCL Triangle Youth Team and Grasstops Team Lead.
On the side, she teaches Spanish and Permaculture, and has a farm in Ecuador, partnering with an Ecuadorian family to grow organic cacao and make artisanal chocolate. Her delight is to hike in the North Carolina mountains with her beloved dog-friend, Isaac.
