Senior Director of Programs
Elli Sparks is committed to the success of CCL volunteers growing their chapters in the U.S. through education and community outreach. She oversees CCL’s weekly Informational Session, trains CCL volunteer trainers to run the Climate Advocate Workshop – CCL’s signature workshop led for chapters across the country, and supports our Regional Directors and Group Leaders.
In 2010, Elli started CCL’s first chapter in Virginia. As group leader she gained experience in nearly every volunteer role. During her first two CCL conferences and lobby days, Elli singlehandedly represented the Commonwealth of Virginia at the conference and met with every office in the state’s congressional delegation on Capitol Hill.
Two years later, Elli joined CCL as Director of Field Development. Today she serves as Senior Director of Programs. Her work is informed by her 15 years in nonprofit management prior to CCL.
In 2021, Elli sold her home in Virginia, packed her belongings in her car, and set out to follow her daughter’s family from base to base as her son-in-law pursues his Army career. On many weekends, you will find Elli dancing in her daughter’s kitchen with her young granddaughter. At various times of the year, Elli visits her mother in Ohio who spent a career in advocacy as well and still serves as an inspiration to Elli.
