Citizens’ Climate International Program Director
Cathy Orlando works as the Program Director at Citizens’ Climate International where with an exceptional team she directs programs that support volunteers in over 75 countries to build political will for a climate safe future.
She has been lobbying the Canadian Parliament since 2010, and US Congress, the World Bank and IMF since 2011. She has been an observer at the IPCC, G7, G20 and UNFCCC COPs since 2017. Cathy has been a board member at We Don’t Have Time since 2018. She was Women’s W7 delegate at the G7 in Germany in 2022. Cathy has conducted countless training sessions, and has directed 25 conference and lobbying days in Canada between 2012 and 2024.
Cathy is a recipient of a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), the Desjardins Citizens Engagement Award (2017) from Climate Reality Canada, and the Senate of Canada’s 150th Anniversary Unsung Heroes Medal (2018).
Cathy lives in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, a mining town, with her husband Sanjiv Mathur and their youngest daughter Sophia Mathur.
