Local Issues in West Virginia

Whether you’re conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between, we invite you to join us to learn how to exercise your political power. Everyone is welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, ability, or political affiliation. We at CCL stand firmly by the belief that everyone is an ally that we haven’t met yet, and that everyone we interact with is deserving of respect.

Climate change is a top concern in West Virginia. Rising temperatures have changed much of its landscapes, threatening residents and wildlife. We’re working to reduce America’s emissions — fast. Can you help? As a CCL volunteer, you’ll work with fellow concerned West Virginians to address climate action.

Volunteer for the Environment

West Virginia’s natural beauty and outdoor wonder, as well as the jobs, businesses, and homes of its residents, are in danger. Every day West Virginians feel the financial repercussions of climate change and its negative impacts in their local communities. Fortunately, there’s a way to help.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization with volunteer chapters throughout West Virginia. Our largest chapter is in Charleston. We have other active and growing chapters in Huntington, Morgantown, and the Eastern Panhandle areas.

We welcome all West Virginians who are serious about taking climate action. You bring your energy, and willingness to work collaboratively with others on solutions. We’ll help you turn your alarm about climate change into action – influencing real decisions locally and in Washington, D.C. that will impact West Virginia’s environment.

  • Grassroots outreach: We recruit and educate the public on climate change solutions, citizen advocacy, and how to participate with one’s government.
