June 2024 – In the coming week, Citizens’ Climate Lobby will hold its 15th annual conference and lobby day, “Making Moves and Moving Congress,” in Washington, D.C.

CCL will welcome more than 1,000 registrants from all 50 states, who will attend conference activities Saturday, June 8 through Monday, June 10.

On Tuesday, June 11, conference attendees will head to Capitol Hill for hundreds of climate-focused meetings with lawmakers. They will discuss the pressing need to reduce America’s carbon pollution, focusing on legislative solutions that we hope to see Congress support and ultimately pass into law.

In addition to hundreds of lobby meetings, this year’s event includes powerhouse speakers, transformative trainings, and energizing outreach activities.

Here’s a preview of some highlights from each day, which press are welcome to attend for interviews and visuals. (Unless otherwise noted, conference activities take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.)

  • Saturday: CCL welcomes more than 170 students to a day of youth-focused climate advocacy training at our first-ever Student Summit.

  • Saturday, 2 p.m.: Climate Conversations” on the National Mall, where CCL volunteers from across the country will engage passersby in discussions about climate change, using cutting-edge messaging guidance from our partners at Potential Energy Coalition and Science Moms.

  • Sunday, 2 p.m.: Nathaniel Stinnett, head of Environmental Voter Project, joins us to talk about elevating climate change during campaigns in this election year.

  • Monday, 10:10 a.m.: A screening of True False Hot Cold, a documentary about climate change, belief, and talking to people you don’t agree with.
