Board Relations Manager and Administrative Specialist
Kathy Orlinsky serves the dual roles of providing staff support for the Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) and Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) Governing Boards of Directors, and of providing support for our events and membership departments. Among many other tasks, she handles insurance, scholarships, and answers the membership inbox questions.
Kathy learned about CCL in November 2015 by eavesdropping on another CCLer at a local climate march. She knew instantly that this was the right place for her. Within two months, she was a CCL Chapter Leader, and within a year she became a Southern California Coordinator.
Kathy earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine, in microbiology and molecular genetics. Apart from a brief stint as a post-doc, she never used that degree, opting instead to stay home with her daughter. She began volunteering full time when her daughter entered college. When she’s not working on climate, Kathy is probably reading science fiction and time travel novels.
