Grassroots climate advocates hold 300+ virtual lobby meetings with congressional offices

Nov. 17, 2025 – Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) volunteers across the country have just kicked off a virtual lobby week, Nov. 17–21, focused on advancing policies to reduce climate pollution and protect communities from climate impacts.

More than 300 grassroots volunteer lobby teams will meet virtually with congressional offices, building momentum for:

  • Bipartisan permitting reform legislation, which will help address energy affordability by building and connecting clean energy faster
  • The bipartisan Fix Our Forests Act, which aims to reduce wildfire risk and which passed the Senate Agriculture Committee last month.
  • Foreign pollution fees, an idea with bipartisan interest that uses trade policy to drive reductions in climate pollution.

Prior to lobbying, more than 870 CCL volunteers and chapters across the country tuned in on Zoom for the organization’s virtual Fall Conference, which took place Nov. 14–15.

“Your advocacy is seen, it’s valued, and it’s working,” CCL Vice President of Government Affairs, Jennifer Tyler, told CCL volunteers in one of those virtual conference sessions. “Even in the hardest seasons, you’re changing the tone of the climate conversation in Congress — one meeting, one relationship, and one small but significant step at a time.”

The program also included sessions with former White House clean energy advisor Avi Zevin, who shared insights from his time shaping national energy strategy, and with CCL’s Interim Executive Director Ricky Bradley, who opened the conference with a window into CCL’s new strategic plan.

Equipped with fresh insights and training, CCLers’ fall lobby meetings are well underway, with grassroots volunteers sharing their appreciation across social media:
