About Citizens' Climate Lobby
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to experience breakthroughs exercising their personal and political power.

We have been laser-focused for nine years on a specific piece of legislation and a proven strategy to gain its passage at the federal level. We successfully worked for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.

Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.

We’ve seen firsthand how passionate citizens who are well-trained, organized by district and with a good system of support can more than influence the political process.

13th Time Lucky
In October 2018, Citizens Climate Lobby was on Parliament Hill for the 13th time lobbying collectively. While on the hill, there were indications that carbon fee and dividend was going to be announced as the official backstop policy for pricing carbon pollution.

Senator for Edmonton, AB Senator Grant Mitchell said, “You are one of the most successful lobbying groups I have worked with because you are about to get what you lobbied for.”

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, Prime Minister Trudeau announced: “It is free to pollute, so we have too much pollution.” He presented the solution simply too, saying, “Starting next year, it will no longer be free to pollute anywhere in Canada. We are going to place a price on the pollution that causes climate change from coast to coast to coast. We’re also going to help Canadians adjust to this new reality.

And there you have it: Canada enacted the first carbon fee and dividend policy on the planet.

Our work is not done. As all seasoned environmentalist and social justice advocate know, gains made must then be defended. We need to refresh strengthen and grow our organization.

Join us. We are fun,  action-oriented, fun, highly focused and we are not guessing.  In less than 10 hours a month, on your own time, you can make a difference.

About Citizens' Climate Lobby Sudbury
CCL Sudbury was the first international CCL chapter in the world. We have been with CCL since September 2010. CCL Sudbury is the headquarters for CCL Canada. We are a very productive group highly focused on building the political will for carbon fee and dividend. Our volunteers have continuously produced and recorded hundreds of CCL actions every year.

Fridays For Future
Sophia Mathur, an eleven-year-old CCL Sudbury member who has lobbied both Congress and Parliament, was probably the first youth in the Western Hemisphere to strike from school Fridays on November 3, 2018, with Greta Thunberg. Sophia has garnered national media attention for her actions including an interview the CBC National News and CBC's Day 6 radio program.  Follow the actions of Canadian youth striking with Greta Thunberg here:
