Citizens' Climate Lobby Chapter
Atlanta (Intown), Georgia
About Our Chapter
Hi! Thanks for checking out the Atlanta chapter of CCL. Led by Dan May and Kristina Bargeron Clark, we're a group of committed Atlantans who not only want Congress to take action on climate change, but lobby them to make it happen.
Sept 29 - Streets Alive! on Cascade Road and Ralph David Abernathy. We'll have a table, but it's fun just to be there. 2:30 - 6:30 pm
Oct 2 - Citizens' Climate Lobby: our Solution is Democracy! 7 pm reception, presentation 7:30-9:00. Dan May and Henry Slack will explain CCL means and methods, including the basics of becoming an effective climate advocate, and why the Energy Innovation Act can cut our emissions! 701 W Howard Avenue in Decatur, the Atlanta Friends (Quaker) Meeting, near East Lake MARTA Station.
Oct 12 - Chapter meeting, 11:15 AM (see below)
Chapter Meetings are usually second Saturday of most months; 3rd Saturday of June and November
Time: 11:15 - 1:45 (If you'd like to show up at 11 for coffee and to chat, we'd love to visit!)
Location: Atlanta Friends Meeting (Quakers), 701 W. Howard Avenue, Decatur (near East Lake MARTA Station)
What to bring: We share a casual sandwich potluck lunch; please bring a lunch item to share. You can also bring a laptop or tablet so it’s easier to type up letters to the editor or to Congress.
Just like hundreds of CCL chapters across the country, We are laser focused on one piece of legislation: the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. This is the climate solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world. Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy is effective, good for people, and good for the economy as well, building jobs across the country. Best of all, it has bipartisan support!
