Citizens' Climate Lobby Chapter

Canton, NY St. Lawrence County, New York
About Our Chapter
Canton CCL is one of hundreds of Citizen's Climate Lobby chapters across the world working to create the political will for a livable world. We are based out of St. Lawrence University, and open to students of SLU and nearby universities as well as local residents. Our current efforts include seeking CF&D endorsements from the presidents of local universities, village and town boards, and the county government. We also are involved in the New York State CCL effort to pass a statewide price on carbon.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a national, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization with a laser focus on a specific piece of legislation and a proven strategy to gain its passage. We are working for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend (CF&D), the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.

Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.
