Climate change solutions in Dover-York, PA

Join the Citizens’ Climate Lobby Dover-York Chapter

York, Dover, Hanover, Spring Grove, Wrightsville, New Freedom, Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to experience breakthroughs exercising their personal and political power. Our chapter is just one of hundreds of chapters across the world working to create the political will for a livable world.

We've been laser focused on a specific piece of legislation and a proven strategy to gain its passage. We are working for the passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend, with that carbon fee refunded fully and directly to households, making it revenue-neutral.  It's the climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.

Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.

We've also added additional policies to help us reduce emissions to where the science tells us we need to be to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.  Those policies are Forests, Building Electrification and Efficiency, and Permitting Reform.

We’ve seen firsthand how passionate citizens who are well-trained, organized by district and with a good system of support can more than influence the political process.   The York Chapter meets with both Rep. Scott Perry and Rep. Lloyd Smucker as well as our Senators Casey and Toomey.

Where we meet:

The Dover-York chapter meets on the Wednesday evening following the CCL International Call.  You can see the date and speaker for the call at.  We meet at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York at 925 S. George St. (just up the street from the York Hospital) at 2pm.  We're meeting in the parlor in the Carriage House, the building on the lower level behind the main building.  You can enter from the main front entrance on George St. or the lower back entrance on Duke St.

We have been meeting on Zoom virtually due to COVID, but we plan on conducting meetings in-person at the UUCY campus in spring of 2023.  See the Dover-York homepage on Community for event details each month.
