We used to meet at Tom Gill's "Rhythm for Unity" drum studio.
The Milwaukee West chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby meets in Wauwatosa, WI, just to the west of Milwaukee. Members join us from Milwaukee, Elm Grove, Brookfield and other towns as well as Milwaukee and Wauwatosa.
The chapter mostly focuses on the fifth congressional district, currently (2021) represented by Scott Fitzgerald. In this we work closely with the Jefferson County and Waukesha chapters. We regularly meet with Mr. Fitzgerald's office and let him know that we want to see good, market-based legislation to strongly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We have had letters published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Waukesha Freeman, and other publications; and a chapter member was featured on the Spanish language television news program Telemundo.
Our chapter has been blessed to count among its members several School Sisters of Notre Dame, who have a community in Elm Grove and a University in Wauwatosa (Mount Mary). The Sisters have invited CCL speakers to present on several occasions and are strong advocates for the climate.
