Vice President of Programs
Dr. Brett Cease serves as CCL’s Vice President of Programs, where he supervises a department of 21 amazing team members including our regional directors, focused outreach team, and education and advocacy staff. Brett’s team helps sustain CCL’s grassroots strength across all ten regions and in key communities including our young adult, BIPOC and right-of-center identifying volunteers. Brett also leads our educational curriculum and volunteer training, which in the past year included 25,000 participants attending over 200 live online training sessions with over 300,000 views on our main website.
Brett began his career in northern Minnesota as a wilderness program director and lead instructor for several outdoor education non-profits including Outward Bound. Connecting civic engagement with democratic participation and issues-based advocacy, Brett has taught undergraduate policy courses, high school social studies, and campus sustainability with dual master’s degrees in Education and Legislative Studies, and a PhD in Public Policy/Political Economy.
