CCL partners on Rewiring America’s ‘Save on Better Appliances’ campaign
August 25, 2025 – Citizens’ Climate Lobby is proud to support the new “Save on Better Appliances” campaign from Rewiring America, launched this week.
The campaign is “a nationwide effort to help homeowners lock in valuable energy tax credits before they expire at the end of 2025, while also showcasing new pathways to long-term energy affordability,” Rewiring America said in a press release.
“Clean energy tax credits have played a critical role in lowering energy costs, creating jobs, and reducing climate pollution,” said CCL’s Interim Executive Director, Ricky Bradley. “Our nationwide network of grassroots volunteers will be sharing Rewiring America’s resources in their local communities, encouraging homeowners to maximize those benefits.”

The tax credits were originally passed in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and are now set to roll back due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law last month.
In 2022, CCL volunteers urged Congress to go big on climate in the legislative package that eventually became the Inflation Reduction Act, by:
- Holding 920 meetings with congressional offices
- Generating over 225,000 letters and calls to members of Congress
- Writing 2,117 letters to the editor
- Publishing 676 op-eds
Since the bill’s passage, our chapters have helped educate communities about the IRA’s clean energy incentives, including with an Electrification Month mobilization in August 2024.
We worked hard to defend the IRA’s economy-wide clean energy tax credits beginning with lobbying last December, and ramping up with a drumbeat of advocacy through the reconciliation process this year.
Supporting Rewiring America’s campaign is a fitting way to close out this part of our advocacy, help maximize the pollution cuts from this legislation’s clean energy tax credits before they sunset.
Alongside this campaign and beyond, Citizens’ Climate Lobby will work to move effective, durable climate legislation through Congress.
