Craig Thompson

Data Analyst and Applications Developer

Craig Thompson has a passion for finding technical solutions to difficult problems, automating processes, and applying artificial intelligence techniques to tease patterns out of noise. As CCL’s Senior Applications Developer and Data Analyst, Craig builds CCL’s website and software and analyzes data to augment CCL’s volunteer and legislative efforts.

Prior to CCL, Craig worked at the EHR company Epic, training software developers in programming languages and frameworks and leading the development of one of Epic’s customer-facing applications. In 2015, Craig began looking for approaches to fighting climate change that would match the gravity of the problem. He was inspired by Madeleine Para and CCL’s vanguard Madison chapter and began volunteering, joining staff four years later.

Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Theater from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in Computer Science from The Georgia Institute of Technology, where he specialized in human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence techniques. When he’s not writing code to fight climate change, Craig likes to travel, hike, and play ultimate frisbee and board games.
