Laurel Eastman

Mountain West Regional Coordinator

As the Mountain West Regional Coordinator working with Bill Barron, Laurel is delighted to be supporting volunteers in seven beautiful states. She has been the co-leader of CCL’s Outdoor Industry National Action Team, blending her expertise in outdoor sports and a career as a professional kiteboarder and small business owner with a steadfast commitment to environmental advocacy. Laurel earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies at Prescott College.

In 2003, Laurel founded a successful kiteboarding school in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, a business she still owns today. Running a multicultural company in a low-income country has given her a breadth of skills, from communications, marketing, and operational optimization, to event planning and mentorship. Laurel enjoys niche sports like wingfoiling and snowkiting, and throwing weights at the gym for strength training. She loves projects and people, and is currently transforming two old grain bins into a small home.
