Executive Director
Madeleine Para founded her local Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) chapter in Madison, Wisconsin in 2011 and helped shape the entire organization’s growth and development over the next decade. Beginning in 2021, Madeleine served as president of CCL. In January 2022, she assumed the role of executive director.
Madeleine came to CCL from a diverse career in housing co-op management, political activism, anti-racism training, peer mediation and counseling, and education. She has served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin National Organization for Women, the financial manager of Madison Community Co-op, and a teacher in the Madison Public Schools.
She is committed to Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s focus on empowering people from all backgrounds and walks of life to be effective climate advocates, and to building support in our government and communities for effective solutions to the climate problem.
When she is not on the phone or Zoom with CCL staff, volunteers, board members or other allies in the climate space, Madeleine enjoys walking by the lake, singing with her church choir, and spending time with her family and two cats.
