Citzens' Climate Radio Host
In addition to co-leading the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Peterson Toscano is the host of the monthly show Citizens’ Climate Radio (available wherever you listen to podcasts). A playwright, actor, and scholar, Peterson highlights people’s stories and their successes as they pursue climate solutions. In his workshop, Climate and the Art of Storytelling, he reminds us, “No story is harder to tell than the one about our changing climate and what it means for each of us. Reciting the facts is not enough to move people to action, in fact, many shut down when they hear even the mention of global warming. We need to explore how we can break through the collective silence in creative and effective ways.”
As a public speaker and Bible scholar Peterson has promoted equality for LGBTQ people. He now also applies his skills to address climate change as a human rights issue and one that requires artists to help us understand it. He has presented at the Citizens Climate International Conference and CCL regional conference in the US and Canada. When not on the road, Peterson enjoys a quiet, rural life in Central Pennsylvania with his husband, fellow CCL volunteer, Glen Retief.
